To apply for a 2018 World Cup fan passport online, you need to go to the site www.fan-id.ru and fill out a form where you will need to indicate:

Ticket application number or ticket number
Full name
Floor
Passport details including citizenship
Date of birth
Contact information (phone number, e-mail, etc.).

You will also need to upload your photo, which has a number of strict requirements.

Online registration is especially beneficial for foreigners. After all, for this they will not need to specially come to one of the 11 cities where the world championship football matches will be held. Citizens of foreign countries will only need to fill out a form and wait for the application to be approved. After all formal procedures, Fan-ID will be sent to them by mail.

Approximate Estimated delivery time Fan passports abroad – up to 30 days. In Russia, delivery to the border postal exchange point is carried out within 7 – 11 days.
For issuing a fan passport no need to pay anything. All costs are already included in the ticket price. At the same time, a fan passport for the 2018 FIFA World Cup is mandatory for both Russians and visitors to our country. Even children will have to complete it.
When receiving a Fan-ID at a specialized center, take with you the main document that proves your identity. Citizens under 14 years of age will need a birth certificate. If your fan ID is lost, it will have to be restored. As the organizers of the 2018 World Cup promise, this will be possible even at the box office of the stadiums hosting the championship matches, and not just at the distribution centers.

What other benefits and benefits will the 2018 World Cup fan passport provide?

Fan-ID’s tasks also include creating favorable conditions for all football fans:
For foreign citizens, this document will replace a visa. That is, upon presentation of Fan-ID (foreign passport, tickets, etc.), guests from other countries will be able to freely enter Russian territory.
At airports, using an individual fan card, you will be able to go through passport control using a simplified procedure.
Identification will allow you to avoid numerous checks at the entrance to stadiums.
It will provide an opportunity to travel for free on public transport in the cities participating in the World Cup.
Using a personal fan card, you will be able to use Russian Railways services for free. We are talking about traveling by rail between the cities where the world championship matches will take place.
It is expected that thanks to this document, during breaks between football matches it will be possible to attend many cultural and entertainment events for free or at a good discount.
Closer to the start of the 2018 World Cup, tournament organizers will announce other benefits of a fan passport. But even now, the implementation of such a system for identifying football fans seems promising, convenient and extremely useful.

Prepare for the World Cup in advance!

  1. Find and buy cheap air tickets to cities hosting matches
  2. To quickly receive information about promotions and sales, subscribe to the group

That at the second stage of ticket sales for the World Cup we managed to get tickets for matches in Sochi, Samara and Volgograd. The next stage was the registration of the so-called fan passport, or Fan ID, without which you will not be able to enter the stadium even with a ticket. We had already received such a document before going to the Olympics in Sochi, so the principle itself was generally familiar.
In this post, I’ll briefly talk about my personal experience of going through the procedure of registering and receiving a fan passport and about the fly in the ointment that I had to “face.”

You can apply for a passport remotely using the website Fan-ID.ru. To do this, you will need the number of a successful application for the purchase of a ticket for at least one World Cup match (you can get it in the confirmation email or in your personal account on the FIFA website). After this, you should fill out a form with personal (including passport) data. This takes three to five minutes.

The only problem that may arise is uploading a photo. In principle, you can take a photo at home (in fact, that’s what we did), but the background must be completely white, and not just light, as, for example, when applying for a Schengen visa. I achieved the desired result by rather roughly cutting out the outline of my image in Photoshop and placing it on a white background. The site accepted such a portrait.

After filling out the form and uploading a photo, registration is virtually complete. All that remains is to choose the delivery method. A notification with an application number is sent to your email and phone. It must be reviewed within 72 hours. We received confirmation of approval the very next day.
In Moscow, you can get a fan passport at a special issuance center near the Sportivnaya metro station or at one of four public service centers (three in the center and one in New Moscow). The regions also have their own distribution centers. In addition, you can order delivery by Russian Post.
I decided to get a fan ID at Sportivnaya, combining this procedure with. The exact address of the distribution center is Khamovnichesky Val Street, building 34, but in fact the entrance to it is located from Savelyeva Street.

Finding the center is very easy. Coming out of the southern (closest to Luzhniki) metro lobby, you need to turn left, and then actually go around the Yunost Hotel, making two more left turns. Along the way you will come across this sign.

The center itself is also very noticeable. In general, it's hard to miss.

Despite the fact that there are barriers at the entrance to organize queues on the street, even before the Russia-Brazil match there was no particular excitement here. By the way, did you check out the “chandelier” in the shape of a football field?

When entering, you need to take an electronic queue ticket and wait to be called to one of the windows. There you must present your general passport and it is advisable to provide the number of the approved application for Fan ID. After that, you are asked to wait in the hall for another minute, then another girl shouts out your name and patronymic and hands you a fan ID, which is a laminated cardboard with a cord for hanging around your neck. Taking into account all these steps, I spent at most fifteen minutes in the distribution center.

By the way, theoretically, you can register right on the spot (without submitting an application online in advance).

This is where your photo will be taken. True, if there are no problems with taking a photo yourself, I don’t see the point in choosing this registration method.

Here we would like to praise the organizers for making everything so clear, simple and fast. And I will praise you, of course. But, unfortunately, there is one fly in the ointment, very important for our family. You can get a fan ID for someone (and in my case, for your spouse) only with a notarized power of attorney. Simply having her civil passport and marriage registration certificate is not enough. At the Consulate General of another country, I can apply for a visa for my wife, and then get her international passport (and without any unnecessary questions), but to get some unfortunate badge with a lanyard in my country, I must first go to a notary and, by the way, pay him money for issuing a power of attorney! Well, what kind of bureaucracy, motherfucker?!
At the same time (attention!) it is impossible to order delivery of a fan passport by mail throughout Moscow (and therefore to Zelenograd)! That is, now Yulia, no matter how you look at it, will have to spend half a day traveling from Zelenograd to Luzhniki, placing a two-year-old child somewhere during this time. Everything for the people!

And the second fly in the ointment, not directly related to obtaining a fan passport, but related to organizing a trip to the World Cup. If you are counting on free trains to the cities where tournament matches will be held, but have not yet managed to book seats on them, you can’t count on them too much - judging by our matches, there are actually no seats on such trains anymore (see screenshot). Apparently, all of them went to people who managed to buy tickets for the World Cup at the first stage of sales (to reserve a seat on the free train you need to have a fan ID, and to get it you must first buy a ticket for the match).

I think it would be more correct to open reservations for trains after the start of the third stage of football ticket sales (there will still be almost two months before the start of the World Cup at that time - enough time to plan a trip), so that everyone would be more or less on equal terms. Otherwise, it turns out that those who were previously lucky enough to buy football tickets (and this is literally a lottery) were also lucky with train tickets. Well, okay, nothing depends on us here. We have already bought our transport tickets. We're going to the World Cup!

Any football fan is aware that the World Football Championship is coming to Russia, but not everyone knows how to get a fan passport for World Cup 2018, and what opportunities it provides. First of all, without him it will be impossible to freely attend the World Cup games. In fact, this document is mandatory for all people who are guests of the upcoming world football championship. Its development and creation was carried out by the I-Teco company. The identification document was agreed upon with the relevant departments, including the international organization FIFA.
