And how did they fix it?

I repeated the world record in total, so I’m happy. On the other hand, the amount could have been increased, but the judges did not count the attempt at 149 kg. However, I gave them a reason myself, I made a mistake.

Yes. Although many later told me that it could have been counted, it was still a world record. In other categories, it happened that they pushed harder, and nothing was counted. Anyway. The main thing is that I “broke” this weight. A little inaccurate, really, but now I know that I’m capable of it. This is why I will dance in my layouts. In the clean and jerk, in the third approach, I set 188 kg, but made mistakes - I didn’t twist my elbows, I didn’t expose myself to the weight - and I failed. Then I thought: “What have I done?”

Tell me honestly, is such an assault on world records in Turkey an act of intimidation of rivals or just for the soul?

Definitely not for rivals. I am not going to show or prove anything to them. I just don’t divide the European Championships into regular and pre-Olympic ones, where you need to be careful. I try to perform as often as possible. Last year I made five starts. After the World Championships in Paris - three.

The coach and I have a different vision. Through competitions I improve as a result. You can’t do this through training - you need a platform, you need head-to-head wrestling. How much do you lift during training?

Before Antalya I didn’t push more than 185 kg. But internally I was ready for them. And I was ready for 188 kg - as I say, I stupidly didn’t take it. As for the snatch, at the championship she showed what she should have shown.

I remember well Paris 2011, where none of your traditional rivals came, but the unknown Chinese Zhou Lulu came. And she beat you. Was it a shock?

There everything became clear already from the application scales. Such things are not uncommon in China. In Athens, it seems they exhibited the same athlete (Tang Gonghun. - Note S.B. ), which sat in ambush for all four years. And she became an Olympic champion. In Beijing, however, the Korean Yang Mi Ran won, apparently the Chinese missed her. Believe me, there is such a bench there that I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it turns out that five or six people in the heavyweight division are tearing 160 kg each and pushing 190 kg each.

We never dreamed of this.

Our parents do not allow boys and girls to attend training. They say it's harmful. I remember once they brought a boy about 190 cm tall. His mother said: “Take him to the barbell, otherwise he’s too tall for me.” Others, on the contrary, sincerely believe that children will stop growing.

Of course, nonsense. At one time, I myself decided to engage in weightlifting. The neighbors whispered to my parents: “She won’t be able to give birth.” April 11 marks ten years since I have been doing weightlifting, and I can say that it is completely harmless. Our girls give birth to healthy children, even healthier than those of ordinary people. Journalists sometimes call me and ask: “Is it true that you won’t be able to give birth?” “Have you often hit anyone?” I'm taken aback. Where do such questions come from in people’s heads?! Now I look around, at my peers, and think: “It’s so good that I ended up in sports.”

Krasnov told how he ran after you, 11 years old, around Noginsk near Moscow, persuading you to return to the section.

It happened. I came to the hall by accident. I immediately grabbed the bar and started lifting it, and it weighed about twenty kilos. She was a strong, powerful girl. The coach immediately understood that she was promising.

Is Krasnov the person closest to you today?

Yes. My parents are very far from sports, I don’t communicate with them much. So, let's call each other. And the coach is a second father. His wife and his environment mean a lot to me. His granddaughter is my goddaughter. Almost related.

How long have you been on your own?

The last ten years. I lived intermittently for six years at the Noginsk sports school. I went to regular school, and ate and spent the night at school. Many people came there from Moscow - in Moscow there is no place to do barbell training at all. Then, when the first successes began, they gave me an apartment and I moved into it, although I still spend all my free time with the coach’s family.

Did it become more difficult for Krasnov to work with you after you started winning?

Don't know. It was probably even more difficult before. She was a girl with character. Emotional, quick, poking her nose into everything around her. The character hasn’t gone away now, she’s just become calmer. If you offend me, I can snap back, but never to offend someone or behave aggressively. In general, I can’t say that I’m a very bad person. Haha.

You don't look like a heavyweight at all. Neither in appearance nor in character. Heavies are all phlegmatic.

I wouldn’t allow myself to become so rich, although I don’t blame anyone. There, Ukrainian Olya Korobka, my rival and friend on the platform (serving a 4-year disqualification. - Note S.B. ) seems huge. But despite her great weight, she is tall, and when she wears a dress to a banquet, it looks good on her. In general, I don’t like highlighting other people’s shortcomings. I'm not ideal myself.

In the women's heavyweight division, the balance of power is so clear that you only need to do one successful set of each exercise to get a medal at London 2012. Does it calm you down or turn you on internally?

Turns me on. I really want to show in London the result that I have been working towards for so long. Prove to myself that I am worth something. I’m not going to just be content with a medal because today there is a big gap between the leaders and everyone else.

Fantastic things happened at the 2008 Olympics. The Chinese girl, whom our Oksana Slivenko beat twice at the world championships, lifted 31 kg more in Beijing than the Russian woman. Will this not happen in London?

It will be, it won’t be... I don’t know. Maybe it will, I’ll say so. But, of course, I don’t want to give in to China. It would be good to destroy the myth that the Chinese are invincible. Not to put them in their place, but to make it clear that we are not weak and know how to fight.

Don't you consider it a disadvantage that you often perform? Others are secretive, but you are constantly in sight?

My coach and I are not the right people to worry about this. This is unnecessary. Well, they see my result. This won't make me weaker. And I won't get stronger. If they put up an opponent stronger than me against me, then it’s not my time. And in China they already know that I am strong. And that you can’t take me with your bare hands.

The murder of a 12-year-old girl in the city of Zherdevka, which occurred in April 2011, still leaves no one indifferent. For a long time there were no suspects in this case. However, as Life learned, in November 2014, a 49-year-old resident of Zherdevka, electrician Igor Skorokhodov, was detained on suspicion of rape and murder of Tanya Kashirina, but, as his relatives assure, investigators have no evidence.

And then, in 2011, residents of Zherdevka put forward their own versions of what happened. Rumors began to spread about a visiting pedophile maniac; people also suspected a police officer of committing an inhumane crime.

It was not possible to find the culprits; Tanya’s relatives even turned to psychics and fortune tellers for help. In 2012, participants in the program “Psychics Are Investigating” came to Zherdevka. However, their revelations did not provide anything new.

As Life found out, back in 2013, Igor Skorokhodov came under suspicion.

“Two years passed, and local men continued to be called to the police,” says Igor’s common-law wife Marina Malakhova. “Igor also went, and on his own, at the first call.

As it turned out, the woman was friends with Tanya’s mother, and on the day the schoolgirl disappeared, it was Marina’s birthday. The woman herself was at work, but constantly called her husband, who was at home, to give instructions for the upcoming holiday.

Investigators put forward a version that Tanya came to visit Marina to congratulate her on her birthday, but instead of her mother’s friend, Skorokhodov met her, raped and killed her.

“But I don’t think the girl remembered my birthday and could come to us.” Moreover, there is evidence that Tanya passed by our house and was seen further down the street,” says Marina. “But no one even considers these facts.”

On September 11, 2013, the police took Igor Skorokhodov straight from work and took him to the department, and not to the Zherdevskoye police station, but to the neighboring Uvarovsky district. The man spent five days there. Igor later described what happened at the police in his complaints to his lawyer, the district and General Prosecutor's Offices:

“Before my arrest, I was called as a witness more than once, without a subpoena. They forced me to take the blame for Tanya’s murder, they said that everything was against me, and after I refused, they threatened that they would find a reason to arrest me... On September 11, I was detained as a suspect. In the cell they again began to force me to sign their murder script. Interrogations were carried out day and night. They beat me, and then they accused me of lying to the investigative authorities and inflicting the beatings on myself.”

On September 16, 2013, the first court hearing took place, at which the issue of choosing a preventive measure for Igor Skorokhodov was considered. Such a petition was made by the investigator of the second department for the investigation of particularly important cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Tambov Region, Alexander Karpov. The Zherdevsky court did not consider the collected evidence of guilt sufficient, and the man was released from custody right in the courtroom.

After this, Skorokhodov and his wife went to Tambov and recorded the beatings from doctors. According to the doctors, the man was diagnosed with a closed craniocerebral injury, a concussion, and a chest contusion.

“Our complaints only receive replies,” continues Marina. — Searches were carried out at our house, I remember they were looking for some kind of gray tracksuit, but they never found it, Igor doesn’t wear tracksuits at all. Igor was imprisoned again, on what grounds - I don’t know. They said that Tanya was abused for several days, she was kept somewhere, but Igor could not keep the child in the house or in the barn - I would have noticed this. And on the day Tanya disappeared, he didn’t disappear anywhere.

The investigation appealed the decision of the Zherdevsky court, but was again rejected. And only a year later, on November 17, 2014, the Tambov Regional Court decided to take the man into custody; in December, the term of imprisonment was extended by three months. Skorokhodov was ordered to undergo a psychological and psychiatric examination.

Marina believes that her husband was arrested so that they could continue to extort a confession out of him. Skorokhodov’s relatives still have hope for the court to sort out this case. True, the man himself does not believe in anything.

“They constantly tell me that they will do the paperwork and put me in jail anyway,” he writes. “They are spreading rumors that I have already confessed.” How to live after this?

We contacted the mother of the deceased girl, Nina Kashirina, and asked her to express her opinion on the situation.

“I can’t talk about Igor’s guilt or innocence,” says Nina. - How can I know? The investigation and the court should look into this. For my part, it’s difficult for me to judge this; I need evidence. A lot of people were detained in this case and then released. I don't want to jump to conclusions. I want the real criminal behind bars.

The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Tambov Region assured “Zhityo” that during the investigation of this criminal case, evidence was obtained of the involvement of a 49-year-old resident of Zherdevka in the rape and murder of a minor in 2011. This evidence was examined by the Tambov Regional Court, and on their basis a decision was made to select a preventive measure in the form of detention in relation to this person. In addition, the said person was charged under paragraph “b” of Part 4 of Art. 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (rape of a victim under 14 years of age) and clause “k”, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder coupled with rape). The criminal investigation is currently ongoing.

It contained the body of a missing 7th grade girl. An examination showed that the girl was raped and then strangled.

On September 11, 2014, the police took the suspected man straight from work and brought him to the department, where he spent five days. As it turned out, before his arrest, he had been called to the department more than once as a witness and, according to him, they were forced to take the blame for the girl’s murder. After such “campaigns,” Igor wrote complaints to his lawyer, the district and general prosecutor’s offices: “.. interrogations were carried out day and night, they beat me, and then they accused me of lying to the investigative authorities and inflicting the beatings on myself.”

On September 16, the first court hearing took place, at which the issue of choosing a preventive measure for Igor Skorokhodov was considered. But the Zherdevsky court did not consider the collected evidence of guilt sufficient and the man was released from custody right in the courtroom. After this, Igor and his wife went straight to Tambov and recorded the beatings from doctors. Igor’s wife Marina says that their home was searched several times and the police were looking for some gray suit, which was never found. However, the man was jailed again. The investigation appealed the decision of the Zherdevsky court, but was again rejected. And only a year later, on November 17, 2014, the Tambov court decided to take the man into custody, and in December the prison term was extended for another three months and a psychological and psychiatric examination was ordered. Igor Skorokhodov was charged under paragraph “b” of Part 4 of Art. 131 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Rape of a victim under 14 years of age” and clause “k”, part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Murder coupled with rape.”

As it turned out, Skorokhodov came under suspicion for a reason. His wife was friends with Tanya’s mother, and on the day the schoolgirl disappeared, Marina Skorokhodova had her birthday. Investigators put forward a version that the girl came to congratulate her after school, but she was at work, and instead of her mother’s friend, Igor met her, raped and killed her. But the woman says that it is unlikely that Tanya remembered her birthday. Moreover, there are witnesses that the girl walked past their house. And in general, Marina claims that she called her husband all day to give instructions regarding the holiday and he could not go anywhere for a long time. In addition, she says, the investigation showed that the girl was kept for several days in some kind of barn, and if they had it, she would have noticed. At the same time, the husband did not go anywhere all these days.

The girl's mother neither blames nor justifies her friend's husband. She says that she will not make hasty conclusions and wants the real criminal to be behind bars.
